Connie’s grandparents emigrated from Cuba to work in the cigar factories in Ybor City in the early 1900s. Connie is a second generation Cuban American and a bilingual Florida native who has her grandparents’ strong work ethic.
A Heart that Gives Back
Attorney Jacobs has a heart for giving back to the local community. She has served on the boards of Habitat for Humanity in Manatee County and the United Way and was president of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers of Manatee County. She has mentored and coached the Teen Court of Manatee County and coached future lawyers in Mock Trial competition. She was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush to serve on the Judicial Nominating Committee for the 12th Judicial Circuit for two terms, the first Hispanic female representative on that post.
